Lesson of the Day:
To see where people are at, give them a test. I like to assign training or other station tasks to see where people are at in their work ethic. No repercussions, just a feedback system. 

Not done? Then it was not a priority. Everyone is different, some need little to no reminders and some need more supervision.

Instructor Fail

Lesson of the Day:

We saw the pitfall of training. We put recruits in decision-making role (officer) and that’s where they struggled the most. It’s not their fault. They just were not ready. To improve, we will place an officer to drill with them as the lead next time. As an instructor, look for what you can do better if there’s a pattern of failure.

We will never be perfect. We can make progress towards perfection though. Focus on progress.
